Barathaven offers Memory Care services for those living with Alzheimer’s and other memory loss conditions. We carefully select compassionate care team members with a passion for delivering high-quality care. Every caregiver in our community has received professional training in working with residents.

Meals are a favorite time here at Barathaven. Not only is the food delicious but the conversation is lively and the desserts are divine. Our Executive Chef creates options for every appetite and need. All meals are expertly created from scratch, by our Chef and kitchen staff.  Hearty dishes such as barbeque and pulled pork to mouth-watering holiday dinners deliver a little taste of comfort every day. SPARK® is a research-based program inspired by the teachings and research of Maria Montessori and Dr. Cameron Camp, which focuses on giving residents meaningful ways to feel needed and be productive. We use tailor-fit assessment tools to evaluate each resident’s capabilities and strengths, so the program can best meet their specific needs.

The Four Pillars of the Frontier SPARK® Program 

The effectiveness and success of our SPARK® program for Assisted Living & Memory Care Residents is based on 4 foundational pillars.

• Social: We ensure that each resident has a role in the community that allows them to interact with others.
• Skills Focused: Our Montessori Assessment Tool uncovers remaining skills often missed by traditional evaluations.
• Procedural Memory: Skills can be learned and even improved through repetitive “procedural learning,” which allows residents to perform routine activities with less concerted effort.
• Progression & Goal Setting: Residents who work on projects or learn new things over a period of time with a set goal in mind feel more engaged and successful.

Whether your loved one requires some help with the activities of daily living (ADLs) or is living with the effects of dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, our dedicated staff takes great pride in delivering high-quality care that is compassionate, safe, and resident-centered. Our services are designed to meet our residents’ physical, emotional and spiritual needs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We offer enriching activities, exciting social programs, wellness classes, restaurant-quality meals, and more.

Before a resident moves into our property, customized assessments are completed so individual care plans can be created. These care plans are assessed multiple times by our Health Services Director, Executive and Lifestyle Directors, and Marketing Director. We have a highly credentialed staff in our community. Our nursing staff consists of RNs, LPNs, and CNAs. Headed by our Medical Director, we also have a speech pathologist, Certified Dementia Practitioners (CDP) geriatricians, podiatrists, optometrist dentists, and hygienists.

Barathaven features spacious one-bedroom apartments, and shared room options.  There are comfortable and large common areas including activity rooms, family-style dining rooms, beautiful grounds, a family meeting room, and a private dining room.
