About Sunnybrook at Mt. Pleasant

Sunnybrook at Mt. Pleasant is an Assisted Living & Memory Care community that provides exceptional person-centered holistic care to residents.

Located in the heart of Henry County, our community is nestled within a quiet country setting. The surrounding area, dubbed the “Athens of Iowa” for it’s elevation and picturesque scenery, is a beautiful place for your loved one to call home. Whether they are moving in from New London, Danville, Salem, or anywhere else, they will feel right at ease at Sunnybrook.

We understand that requiring Activity of Daily Living (ADL) assistance or facing a memory-illness diagnosis is trying on a family and their loved one. That’s why ensuring residential safety, health, and happiness is and always will be our top priority.

When your loved one moves into our community, they’ll quickly find there is never a dull moment. Every day at Sunnybrook brings an array of fun surprises, activities, outings, and gatherings. We host frequent movie nights, partake in regular group exercises, participate in Lifelong Learning activities, and so much more.

And while maintaining a fun and vibrant atmosphere is important, your loved one’s health remains the top focus. We provide hands on housekeeping and nursing services around the clock, so your loved one can focus on relaxing.

You’ll see the family-like atmosphere for yourself when you visit for a free tour and consultation. Schedule your meeting with a Sunnybrook representative today to see the community’s magic yourself!

Mind, Body & Soul
  • Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapy

  • Interactive Learning

Healthy living includes the mind, body, and spirit, and our caregivers work every day to help residents live a healthy lifestyle.

Our community includes daily exercise classes with other residents so they can stay fit and limber. And when they just want to get the blood flowing, we offer abundant outdoor opportunities for a brisk walk through the lovely surrounding area.

Additionally, Lifelong Learning – as part of our signature SPARK program – provides residents with a source of continued growth. They may hear from guest speakers, attend small and large group crafts, or engage in painting programs and interactive lectures. These programs are essential for stimulating the mind as well as the body.

Religion is essential to many of our staff and residents – and we’re happy to welcome all denominations. We offer dedicated space for various services, gatherings, and other interests to review, read, sing, discuss, or otherwise fulfill your desire to seek or pursue a warm and familiar experience.

Mom was reluctant to go at first. The staff made her feel very welcome. She is now involved in a lot of activities and never mentions moving back home.
