SPARK® is a research-based program inspired by the teachings and research of Maria Montessori and Dr. Cameron Camp, which focuses on giving residents meaningful ways to feel needed and be productive. We use tailor-fit assessment tools to evaluate each resident’s capabilities and strengths, so the program can best meet their specific needs.

The effectiveness and success of our SPARK® program for Assisted Living & Memory Care Residents is based on 4 foundational pillars.
- Social: We ensure that each resident has a role in the community that allows them to interact with others.
- Skills Focused: Our Montessori Assessment Tool uncovers remaining skills often missed by traditional evaluations.
- Procedural Memory: Skills can be learned and even improved through repetitive “procedural learning,” which allows residents to perform routine activities with less concerted effort.

Health & Wellness Services



Whether your senior loved one requires some help with the activities of daily living (ADLs) or is living with the effects of dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, our dedicated staff takes great pride in delivering high-quality care that is compassionate, safe, and resident-centered. Our health and wellness services are designed to meet our residents’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Our skilled staff includes a Medical Director, Health Services Director, Executive Director who is licensed as an infection preventionist, and LPNs. Each resident is assessed to formulate a specialized care plan based on their needs, and we strive to use activities to manage behavior and avoid medications when possible. Our community is a certified Monarch butterfly habitat with vibrant gardens that offer residents the chance to explore ways to be in nature and become immersed in creativity. With compassionate and experienced staff members, we are committed to providing the highest level of care.

Where the Heart Is features spacious apartments that are cozy and conveniently located near the common areas. There are shared room options and one and two-bedrooms and studios. Residents enjoy the sunroom, theatre, and beautiful courtyards and gardens.
The Where the Heart Is community features new dining room floors, a theater, a sunroom where residents gather to visit, a salon, and a beautiful courtyard for entertaining and activities. We also have two balconies where people can sit for meals or visits.
Amenities
At Where the Heart Is all residents enjoy a diverse range of amenities designed to increase their sense of well-being, comfort, and fun! Take advantage of the spa and salon, housekeeping and linen services, library, scheduled transportation, movie nights, happy hours, art therapy, and more.
Additionally, Where the Heart Is provides a unique opportunity for residents to enjoy the vegetables from our garden, making soup daily, using SPARK™ procedural memories. Additionally, we have pop-up cookouts on the balcony, resident-made pancakes, homemade cookies, and we plan special parties based on different foods, like a chocolate day or honey day. Every Friday during the summer, residents enjoy a BBQ outside.
