Frontier Senior Living Celebrates Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Staff Education Week

February 14th through the 21st, is Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care Staff Education Week. It is a time dedicated by the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP) to raise awareness and provide education on caring for persons living with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.

For a period of 4 months (November through March), NCCDP will be offering their members staff training materials to help professional caregivers learn new techniques and care strategies to assist people living with these conditions.

This time period will also focus on promoting advancements in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, and provide educational support to staff and family members.

While the number of people being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia is rising, treatment methods are improving each year. Worldwide attention has been given to these conditions in recent decades, and our understanding about them is ever widening.

These advances provide medical professionals and caregivers better strategies for helping people diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia and their families.
